Bangladesh ranks 17th in TI corruption index

Bangladesh moved two steps up in the corruption perception index of Berlin-based Transparency International in 2017, ranking 17th most corrupt country of the world. In 2016, Bangladesh was ranked the world’s 15th most corrupt country. Bangladesh chapter of Transparency International executive director Iftekharuzzaman released the index at a news conference at its office in the capital on Thursday. For the eleventh consecutive year Somalia was ranked the most corrupt country across the globe while New Zealand was ranked the least corrupt in 2017. TI, the lone global anti-corruption coalition, evaluates 180 countries to find out their standing in the corruption perception index.
