Bodies of 15 Rohingyas recovered as trawler sinks in Bay

At least 15 people from Rohingya community died as a trawler sank in the Bay near St Martin’s Island early today.

Coastguard sources said:” The rescue team members recovered bodies of 15 people after the trawler sank in the Bay. All of them are Rohingya people.”

Lt Commander Nayem ul Haque, chief of the Coastguard’s St Martin’s station, confirmed the news.

Bangladesh Navy ship BNS Durjoy joined the rescue operation, he added.

Sixty-three people have been rescued alive so far, the coastguard officials said.
