Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said that there is no question of negotiation between Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the government or the Awami League on the issue of getting bail of BNP chairperson in Zia Orphanage Graft case. A High Court bench on Monday gave Khaleda Zia bail for four months. While visiting the spot of Elias Molla’s slum in Mirpur which was burt down on Monday, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minster said the Awami League is not involved with the process of convicting Khaleda Zia or granting her bail. ‘The court had convicted her and it also granted her bail in the case. Her getting the bail also proves that the judiciary is working freely’, Quader said. On the fire of the Mirpur slum, Quader said the cause of fire is yet to be ascertained found so far but investigation is on to find out the cause of fire, Quader said. The government has allotted 100 tonnes of rice and Tk 10 lakh for the affected slum dwellers and the deputy commissioner of of Dhaka making a list of the affected people, Quader said.
