Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Saturday took three members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on remand in a case filed over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing. Their remand was executed four days after they were put on a seven-day remand for interrogation over the killing. Those remanded are APBn assistant sub-inspector Shahjahan, and constables Rajib and Abdullah. They were on duty at the APBn check-post on the Cox's Bazar Marine Drive at Baharchhara in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar during the killing. Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf upazila on July 31. His elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5.
