Wari goes under lockdown

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) put Wari, which was identified as a red zone for coronavirus, under a 21-day lockdown on Saturday to tackle the worsening Covid-19 situation. The lockdown was enforced at 6am and it will remain in force until July 25. Everything except drug stores and shops of essential goods remained closed inside the area. Barricades were put on 15 out of 17 roads while police and DSCC volunteers are monitoring the two other roads. No one is being allowed to enter or come out of the area without any emergency need. After East Razabazar, Wari is the second area in Dhaka to go under lockdown in a bid to contain the coronavirus.
