Constable's death: Three muggers confess

Three muggers gave confessional statements before separate courts in a case filed over killing of police constable Moniruzzaman Talukder at Farmgate in the capital on July 1.
 
The three accused are Rabbi, 21, Liton, 21, and Qamrul, 45.

Two judges of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court recorded their statements separately on Monday (July 3).

Police produced the trio before the court on Monday as the arrestees have agreed to give confessional statements. Police pleaded to record their statements under section 164.

Allowing the police plea, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zaki Al-Farabi recorded statements of Rabbi and Qamrul, while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam recorded the statement of Liton. Later, the courts sent them to jail.

According to the case statement, the miscreants stopped constable Moniruzzaman in front of Sejan Point of Farmgate on July 1.

The muggers stabbed Moniruzzaman as he resisted them while they tried to snatch his mobile phone and wallet.
