Two freight trains derailed after they collided head-on in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah district early Tuesday, snapping rail communication of Khulna with the rest of the country. Station officer of Kotchandpur Fire Service Abdur Razzaque said the collision took place at Sabderpur Railway Station around 2:30am as both the trains entered the same line. Five wagons veered off the tracks following the collision, he said. The rail communications of Khulna with the rest of the country also remained suspended following the accident. However, there was no report of any casualty in the incident.
